Joe Carranza is a certified fitness trainer through NESTA and NSCA. He is also certified through the Russian Kettlebell Challenge (RKC) and in the process of receiving certification for Circular Strength Training (CST) with Scott Sonnen. Currently, Joe is also pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition. In the past decade, Joe has helped countless people achieve their goals in Kettlebell Sport, Wrestling, Weight-loss, Nutrition, Body Sculpting, and creating healthy lifestyles. He is a strength and conditioning coach for athletes in wrestling, football and basketball as
well as in other sports.
Joe began training as a teenager to gain strength and endurance. His accomplished career in collegiate wrestling led him into training in Mixed Martial Arts. Currently competes in Kettlebell Sport Competitions like the Arnold Classic in March 2009 and 2010 and North Jersey Competition in June 2009 where he placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively and achieving Rank 3 (IKFF). Joe looks to compete in MMA, Triathlons, and achieve World Class Master of Sport in the future.
Joe’s professional career began when he started working as a trainer at Gold’s Gym, L.A. Fitness, and Equinox where he helped hundreds of clients pursue and achieve many fitness goals. In 2006, Joe started his own personal training company where he trained private clients in-home or at other training facilities on the North Shore of Long Island. In 2011, Joe partnered with his brother Rick Carranza to launch Cultivated Strength LLC. Joe believes “There is no greater satisfaction than helping others succeed,” and he knows what it takes to achieve goals and succeed.
Rick Carranza has a passion for focusing on better health and fitness pertaining to people of all ages and walks of life. Kettlebell training is his chosen speciality and since launching “Carranza Kettlebells®” Rick has focused his energy on training individuals and professional trainers in this specialized area. Rick has been extensively certified under the world’s top experts in functional training and kettlebells. Through experience and exposure to many levels of training, Rick is able to instruct his clients in many techniques. He utilizes kettlebells to help people understand better movement and achieve higher levels of fitness and health.
Being a competitive Kettlebell Sport lifter has influenced Rick and helped him focus intensely on technique and discipline in the pursuit of optimum fitness. Other areas of Rick’s expertise include Joint Mobility Training, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Yoga and Plyometrics.
Rick’s mentors and teachers include: Pavel Tsatsouline, RKC (Russian Kettlebell Challenge); Valery Fedorenko, AKC (American Kettlebell Club); Scott Sonnon, CST (Circular Strength Training); Steve Cotter, IKFF (International Kettlebell & Fitness Federation); Jason Brown (Kettlebell Athletics).
